Wisconsin Ethics 2020

Complete Your Wisconsin Ethics Credits for only $69

2020 Telephone Conference Call CLE

December 31 Update:There were no registrations for the 12:00 program, so it will be cancelled. However, if you need one or more hours of live Wisconsin ethics today, please contact me, and I can do the program later in the day. If you need non-ethics credit in Wisconsin, please see the two on-demand programs below. For on-demand credits for other states, please visit my main CLE page. I will be checking my e-mail right up until midnight for your last-minute CLE needs.

The programs on this page allow you to complete your Wisconsin ethics credits by telephone for only $69. This program is designed specifically for Wisconsin attorneys. The Wisconsin Supreme Court has issued a temporary order allowing Wisconsin even-year reporters (attorneys completing the 2019-2020 CLE cycle) to use on-demand programs for 27 of their 30 required credits. However, the three ethics hours must still be completed with in-person programs or live distance learning programs. The programs on this page will satisfy your 3 credit ethics requirement for only $69. I can also assist you with satisfying your other 27 credits at little or no cost. If you don't need all three ethics credits, you can take a portion of the course for $25 per credit.

This three hour conference call will take care of your ethics requirement, and will give you either 3 or 3.5 credits toward your 30 credit requirement. Therefore, you will need at least 26.5 more credits. Your registration in the 3 credit ethics program includes free registration for any of my Wisconsin on-demand courses for the rest of the year. I currently have 2 credits available with the following courses:

If you need more credits, I have listings of free programs by other providers at this link.

*-CLE credit has been applied for as follows:
Wisconsin: 3.5 ethics and professional responsibility credits approved or applied for as shown below.
Minnesota: Credit applied for upon request. Credit applied for, courses noted below.
Other States: Eligible for CLE credit in most states. Please contact me regarding credit in other states.

Program Description

Wisconsin Ethics 2020.Live lecture presented by Richard Clem. This will be a comprehensive review of the Rules of Professional Conduct for attorneys in Wisconsin and other states. Many lawyers review the Rules in their entirety only once, and that is before they take the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam in law school. But the rules change over the years and decades, and some of the finer points might be forgotten. Therefore, this course will serve as a useful refresher for the practitioner to avoid ethical pitfalls. Live lecture, 180 minutes.*

* - Note: The program is scheduled to run 180 minutes, for the benefit of attorneys who are admitted in Wisconsin and another state, such as Minnesota, which requires 180 minutes of ethics. However, Wisconsin attorneys require only 150 minutes of ethics. Therefore, if only Wisconsin attorneys are taking the course, with everyone's approval, we will conclude after 2-1/2 hours, and Wisconsin attorneys will receive 3.0 credits. If attorneys from other states are taking the program, or if the Wisconsin attorneys desire to do so, we will continue a full three hours, and Wisconsin attorneys will earn 3.5 credits.
