Richard Clem Continuing Legal Education: Montana CLE

All of my CLE programs are approved for credit in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and/or Iowa. Montana honors the approval given by other CLE jurisdictions, and there is no need to apply for approval of CLE credit in Montana. You will need to attach documentation of the Wisconsin approval to your affidavit at the end of the reporting year. Course descriptions include a link to the Wisconsin Board of Bar Examiners showing that the course has been approved, which you can print and include with your affidavit.

While not required, The Montana Bar states that it is helpful to attach the attendance certificate for out-of-state programs to your annual affidavit. To receive a certificate of completion, you must correctly respond to the quiz or code words that are provided with the program.

For Montana CLE credit, online programs, such as my $10 per credit podcast CLE's, which are available "on demand" do not qualify as interactive. Therefore, they are considered "other" credits and are limited to 5.0 credits per year. Also, they may not be carried forward to future reporting years. Since my telephone conference call CLE's are interactive, they should qualify for full Montana credit, since they have been approved in Minnesota or Wisconsin.

Please visit my my main CLE page for a complete listing of programs. Of particular interest to Montana attorneys will be my telephone conference call CLE's, which have typically been approved for credit in Minnesota and Wisconsin. These live programs are normally $15 per credit. In addition, I have a number of "Wisconsin Podcasts" which have been approved in Wisconsin, for only $10 per credit.
